Tynehead Regional Park Engagement Session - Surrey, BC
It was a gloomy day at one of Surrey’s hidden gems - Tynehead Regional Park, but that didn’t stop these two from embracing the Pacific Northwest weather and shoot their engagement session. The park offers spacious open fields, trails through the forest, and is super dog friendly, so it should be no surprise that it’s one of my favourite parks in Surrey to shoot in. It’s one of the best photo locations for an engagement/couple shoot in Surrey!
There’s something about late fall weather that adds an element of mystery and stillness, that I love. The quiet and calming environment during this shoot was so soothing, and that’s exactly what exuded from these two — their serene love for one another. Just at the end of their session, it began to rain – typical of Vancouver weather! It started off as light rain and then it began to pour, and we were forced to use our handy dandy umbrellas… hey – this made for a great opportunity to throw in some props!
Jesse and Amy have known each other since high school and recently celebrated their 8-year anniversary. These high school sweethearts are goofy and madly in love, but when they’re in front of the camera they go into total model-mode and strike their best poses. It was so fun because there were times when I had to loosen them up and get them to be themselves. I truly got to know them more as a couple when I had the pleasure of documenting Jesse proposing to Amy at Whytecliff Park. Amy’s engagement ring was custom-made by her art teacher’s husband. How cool is that? Jesse sent in his ring design and ideas and the whole process of handcrafting took place! They are getting married next year, and I’m so honoured to have been a part of their love story. Who knew that doing a collaborative shoot with Amy three years ago would lead to documenting their journey as a couple!
