Larsen & Eilish were married at the Benvoulin Heritage Church in Kelowna, which was sweet, intimate and much more. The venue is a special place for them because Eilish’s parents were married in the same venue 31 years ago. This made it a wonderful way to reminisce and start a new beginning with their close friends and family. At the reception, friends and families gathered under a big tent to celebrate the union. The decorations were simple, and their wedding cake was made by the bride’s very own maid of honour! Just before their first dance, Lost Together by Blue Rodeo began playing. It was such a beautiful moment, a group gathered and everyone started singing in unison. They sang loud, hugging one another and swaying as a family. Everything came full circle when Eilish told me that it was tradition for them to sing this song at Larsen’s cabin in Shuswap during the summertime and at weddings.

Four days before their wedding, I got a text from Eilish saying Larsen got elbowed in the face playing soccer, and that he’d need stitches. It looked pretty bad in the photos she sent! I told her that it would be okay, and that a good wedding story would come out of it — it turned out to be a running joke throughout their big day! ( it honestly didn’t look so bad in the end either).

Larsen & Eilish met in the second year of undergrad, during which they attended a few lectures together. It wasn’t until the following year that they both ditched their chemistry lab partners so they could spend even more time together. Since then the two had great ‘chemistry’, and their relationship flourished into what is now their happily after.
